Grading
Art history majors must receive quality grades in art history courses taken for the major, with one exception: Preparation for the Senior Paper (ARTH 29900) is open for P/F grading with consent of instructor. Art history courses elected beyond program requirements may be taken for Pass grades with consent of instructor. Students taking art history courses to meet the general education requirement in the dramatic, musical, and visual arts must receive quality grades. Nonmajors may select the P/F option with consent of instructor if they are taking an art history class that is not satisfying a general education requirement. A Pass grade is given only for work of C- quality or higher.
