Doc Films’s fall quarter calendar is out, with two series of particular interest to the art history community and (co)curated by senior art history major Avivit Ashman. There Is No Center: Screening the Obama Era, 2009–17 runs on Saturdays on Sundays from October 3 to November 1. Presented in conversation with Longer Than the Sky: Art of the Obama Years at the Logan Center, curated by doctoral candidate Jenny Harris, the series aims to explore the cultural dissonances of the era through pairings of commercial films with video art works and experimental films. Another series later in the quarter focuses on the film and video work of conceptual artist Renée Green, who will be coming to campus to introduce the first screening on November 7. There will be an opportunity to ask questions after the projection.
