Department of Art History

We are proud to announce Art History PhD student Jessie Alperin has received the 2026 Wayne C. Booth Prize for Excellence in Teaching for her work in courses such as “Introduction to Art" and "Introduction to Modern Japanese Art" and recently “Global Art Nouveau,” the standalone course she created herself. 

The Booth Prize is awarded annually to University of Chicago graduate students for outstanding instruction of undergraduates. See more information on the prize and Jessie's thoughts on teaching here.
