We are proud to announce Art History PhD student Zahra Syed has received the 2026 Schiff Foundation Fellowship for Critical Architectural Writing for her paper "Materializing the Margins: The Jewish Ghetto and the Fondaco dei Turchi in Early Modern Venice".

The Schiff Foundation Fellowships support the work of Chicago-area students of architectural design and criticism. Among the most important student prizes of their kind in the United States, the fellowships are administered by the Art Institute of Chicago’s Department of Architecture and Design.
