Natalie Jenkins wins T. Kimball Brooker Prize
May 23, 2024
Congratulations to Natalie Jenkins on being awarded this year’s T. Kimball Brooker Prize for Undergraduate Book Collecting. A senior art history and visual arts major and architectural studies minor, Natalie is being honored for the “thoughtfulness and intent” with which she has built her personal collection of books about “Land Art in the Expanded Field.” She built her collection as part of her thesis research and classwork, which included Prof. Eric Larsen’s “Natural History of North American Deserts” and several art history seminars: “Doing Art History” with Prof. Marty Ward, “Earthworks Revisited” with Prof. Christine Mehring, and “Postcolumbian: The Ancient Americas in Modern and Contemporary Art” with Prof. Claudia Brittenham. She learned about this opportunity in Prof. Luke Joyner's architecture studio on libraries.
