Yifan ZOU is a PhD student studying East Asian art and architecture. Yifan received her MA from the University of Pennsylvania in 2017 and holds a BSocSc degree from the University of Hong Kong, where she double majored in geography and art history. She also spent a semester at National Taiwan University as an undergraduate exchange student.
Yifan has held internships at the Princeton University Art Museum, the Kislak Center for Special Collections, Rare Books and Manuscripts at Penn, and the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
Her research interests are Ming to 20th century Chinese architectural history, Chinese landscape painting and cartographic tradition, and Chinese architectural expressions at modern World’s Fairs. Outside of Chinese art, Yifan is also fascinated by issues like narratives of urban spaces, and ways of exhibiting architectural history in various museum settings.
