Edward Johnson

Biography

Edward Johnson is a PhD student studying architecture and urban culture in late-medieval and early-modern Italy. His work explores the dynamic relationship between sound, space, and architecture in Italian city-states from the fourteenth to sixteenth centuries and is concerned more generally with the role of the urban environment in the construction of premodern urban societies. Before arriving in Chicago, Edward obtained BA and MA degrees from King’s College, London.
