What do they tell us about the artistic process and making? Presentations will look at models through a critical lens and reconsider their significance in art making and art historical practice. A variety of models will be examined, such as decorative designs, architectural drawings, textile patterns, spatial modeling, and dioramas. What is a model? How can we think with and look at models in themselves? How do models challenge our preconceived notions of artworks and art history? What do models reveal about artistic exchange and inspiration? What do they tell us about the artistic process and making?
