Assistant Professor in East Asian Art History Position Opening

The Department of Art History invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in East Asian Art History with an expected start date of July 1, 2025, or as soon as possible thereafter. We seek a historian of any period whose work addresses the visual, material, and/or architectural culture of the Korean peninsula and/or Korean diaspora in its wider regional and historical context, preferably with a focus on transnational and intercultural topics. The selected candidate will pursue their own research agenda, collaborate with faculty in Art History and other departments, and teach in both the undergraduate and graduate curriculum. The teaching load for tenure-track positions is typically four courses per year on the quarter system. Additional responsibilities include advising at all levels of the program, service on departmental and university committees, and regular interaction and collaboration with the Center for the Art of East Asia.
