Biography
Caitlin Haskell serves as the Gary C. and Frances Comer Senior Curator in Modern and Contemporary Art at the Art Institute of Chicago. A scholar of 20th-century painting and sculpture, with broad interests across the field of modern and contemporary art and theory, her exhibitions and publications have addressed the production and critical reception of modern art in Europe and the Americas. Her recent exhibitions and publications include René Magritte: The Fifth Season (2018); Ray Johnson c/o (2021), and Remedios Varo: Science Fictions (2023). She holds a PhD in Art History from the University of Texas at Austin and a BA in Art from Davidson College.
